My name is Robin van Rijgersma
Growing up as a dancer and later becoming a dance instructor, I have always been interested in the human body. Therefore in 2006 I decided to start training as a Physical Therapist and graduated in 2010 at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
After a short period of working as a substitute therapist I was offered a permanent contract in a practice in Uithoorn.
Through the years working as a physical therapist I began to realize the limitations of this particular profession and therefore decided to continue and broaden my education and started training as a Manual Therapist.
Next to my desire to help people through the tools of physical treatment and information about bodily functions, it has been my wish to have a small practice of my own. Therefore I opened the doors of my own practice in August 2012. This office is located in the practice of Amstel Oefentherapie along with several other paramedical services.
My treatments are characterized by a very personal and individualized approach. The questions and concerns of my clients are my first priority. The reasons people seek my help are to address an acute or chronic pain issue, to be able to exercise safely and without restrictions as well as general information concerning their physical bodies.
The field of Physical Therapy is heavily in motion these days. Not only the NZA (Nederlandse Zorg Autoriteit) and the insurance companies, but also the Physical Therapists themselves are working hard on improving quality as well as transparency for the client.
I am working according to the recommended practices as suggested by the KNGF (Koninklijk Nederlands Genootschap voor Fysiotherapie) and CBO (Centraal Bgeleidings Orgaan).
My mission and goal is, in collaboration with the client, to find a solution for the issue at hand in the shortest possible time with good results – so that he or she can move again and regain activity levels that were painful or not possible at all.
